Vegetable Gardening at YoungMoms

Our young moms have been busy learning about vegetable gardening this spring.  At our May Club, volunteer Pat Caplan taught the young moms about vegetable and container gardening, and using herbs to add flavor to cooking.  Each young mom potted a pepper or cucumber plant to take home!  This year we have two beds at the Community Garden in Anson B. Nixon Park.  We’ve been busy planting, weeding, mulching and watering!  On alternate Tuesday and Thursday mornings, Pat will be at the garden, teaching the young moms how to care for the plants and helping them harvest tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, peppers, herbs, etc. to take home.
